Hello,
learn more about me:
Hi there! I'm Christy Hadfield (they/ them), a 26-year-old nonbinary scientist from the midwest. After receiving an undergraduate education in biology and computer science, I obtained a master's degree in bioinformatics. I am now in a biomedical Ph.D. program researching biochemistry & molecular biology. Although forever a lover of science, my interests and passions are multidisciplinary.
Ultimately, my career goal is to teach college level science courses. I'm very passionate about inclusive teaching methods and bringing knowledge to others. Although college programs in STEM have come a long way in terms of accessibility, inclusivity, and supporting the wellbeing of their students, there is still a long way to go.
As a queer, neurodivergent, trans, nonbinary individual, there are many challenges facing our communities. I will remain always as an advocate for myself and others as I believe in the importance of creating visibility and community.
My identity and life experiences are reflected in my writing, which I use as a hobby and means of destressing from my daily life. If you're interested in real, though more light hearted, comedic stories about diverse queer characters, you've come to the right place.
